On June 1st, 2025 the congregations of North Volney and Palermo Church gathered together to celebrate in unity the legacy of North Volney. After 166 years of ministry, the congregation of North Volney took time for prayer and discernment and make the choice to complete a legacy merger with Palermo Church. 

The sanctuary was full of people both young and old. It was a time for story telling and reliving of memories. It was also a time of great joy with having these congregations come together and carry on their legacy. 

During the service trustees from all the churches came forward to hand off the legacy and their membership rolls. The trustees took the time to pray over this process and for each of these members being transferred over. Pastor Tammie Nipper presented the new sign for the church reviling that from that day on they would be known as the Chapel at North Volney of the Palermo Church.  

After communion was shared and services were concluded everyone was invited for a brunch in the fellowship room. People continued to share stories amongst themselves and were excited to see where the future would bring them.
